This service is aimed at secondary prevention of tumours through the screening of female (cervix and breast) and colorectal tumours.
Prevenzione Serena is a service proposed by the Department for Health and Health Protection of the Regional Administration of Piedmont. The project is governed by the Centre of reference for Epidemiology and Oncological Prevention in Piedmont (CPO).
The objective of Prevenzione Serena is to reach the largest part of the population of Piedmont, by offering screening and to provide a quality prevention programme.
The priority objective is to reduce the mortality rate due to cancer of the cervix, breast and colon rectum.

These services have been issued since 2003 for the Health Service of Biella and since 2004 for the former Local Health Unit 1 of Turin. They were established out of the need to outsource the management and development of their data processing and information systems.
CSI becomes the main technological partner, while the Health Service retains the responsibility for the information systems and governing the actual outsourcing.
While respecting specificities, outsourcing for the Health Services involves the following branches of activity:

• providing infrastructural services, with operating centres at the Client’s premises (2,000 jobs, 30 servers, networks and network services);
• providing application services (local management and monitoring centres of the applications forming part of the Health Service Information System);
• providing application services in the field of health and administration (integrated personnel management, administrative management for both Services, bookings…);
• providing specialist and project consulting services on ICT topics.

This integrates the booking systems of the Turin Health Units and Hospitals and offers users a single point of reference for booking medical examinations and diagnostic tests.
