the present-day

CSI-Piemonte's activities have never lost sight of their original mission: to develop a unified, consistent information system throughout the region. Over time, however, it has grown more complex, looking to consolidate its role as a leading ICT company and developing close ties with local companies, organisations and research facilities.

In 2001, the new role of the Consortium received official recognition from the Piedmont regional administration, which assigned CSI-Piemonte the function of “IT holding company” at a regional level. In 2004, CSI assigned itself 7 priority lines of action alongside its regular activities, with a view to the orientation of goals and sectors of operation.

Today, CSI is among the top companies in the field of information technology and telecommunications in Italy (2006 rankings by Datamanager). In Piedmont, it is the largest company in the sector and provides services to most local governments with almost 20,000 workstations connected to its data processing centre.

For these reasons, the world of business and consortium members alike call on CSI-Piemonte to work side by side with them to overcome the critical situation that has struck the regional economy by furthering and favouring joint cooperation and the transfer of specialised skills and know-how.
