CAIOC - Cyber Artificial Intelligence Operation Center
We are participating in this project led by Poste Italiane, which brings together key players in cybersecurity and digital innovation: ABI Lab, Telsy, TS-WAY, iConsulting, ResilTech, the Italian Ministry of the Interior, and Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (UNL).
CAIOC aims to address the increasingly complex cyber threat landscape by leveraging the potential of AI to analyze vast amounts of data, assess geopolitical scenarios, identify attack trends, detect vulnerabilities, and evaluate their impact on digital services.
The project will contribute to building a safer and more resilient digital ecosystem, ensuring that businesses, governments, public administrations, and citizens can operate securely in an increasingly interconnected world.
CAIOC Project Objectives
- To develop artificial intelligence modules to enhance cyber threat analysis, starting from geopolitical scenarios and analyzing large volumes of intelligence data. The goal is to identify attack trends, tools, exploited vulnerabilities, and their impact on digital services. This will enable more focused mitigation strategies and a reduction of cyber risk by addressing the three fundamental parameters: threat, vulnerability, and impact.
- To strengthen national-level cyber threat analysis capabilities. This will enable national Security Operations Centers (SOCs) to share Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) feeds with their constituencies, should they choose to adopt the CTI module developed during the project. The consortium will provide architectural specifications and analytical models to national SOCs interested in the project outcomes.
Role of CSI
CSI Piemonte, which has been managing the Security Operations Center (SOC) for the Piedmont Regional Public Administration since 2014, will contribute the expertise gained in the management and protection of regional systems and will collaborate with project partners across the following Work Packages:
- WP2 – Cyber security objectives and information requirements
- WP3 – System Architecture Model Design
- WP4 – System development and deployment
- WP5 – Data visualization
- WP6 – Piloting and system validation
- WP7 – Communication, dissemination, exploitation activities & networking
